Middle East's Supranational Political Violence

The current Middle East, which is sill living the era of Cold War and Soviet legacy with its stable authoritarianism, is suffering a sustainable situation of political violence.

The Middle East used to have this political violence as the main and indispensable means of ruling according to the authoritarian system and the Soviet approach in this regard. This political violence applied to the domestic situations in the Middle East’s authoritarian countries has become traditional, as it has been made persistent by the ruling regimes and supporting international policies maintaining those regimes, especially before 9/11 and even after 9/11.

Since the region got used to this traditional political violence and political coercion in running the domestic or national political affairs or politics in every single authoritarian country in the region, which are the most of the region’s countries, the remarkable situation that has become more apparent and calling for attention in the latest years is the increasing deployment of political violence and even terrorism in particular in the interregional and international relations of the Middle East.

Actually, there is a remarkable tendency to use political violence in all its shapes including terror in the regional relations and policies adopting by some authoritarian and totalitarian countries, powers and even organizations and groups (sub-state actors) in the Middle East.

Hence, the political violence in its various shapes is extended to foreign policies and affairs by some countries in the region, and has become not exclusive to their domestic affairs and policies.

This is a fact I used to talk about that authoritarian and totalitarian systems would definitely apply the same means used in domestic policy to foreign policy, as the foreign policy is somehow a reflection and extension of the domestic policy, especially for non-democratic systems.

This is a fact by nature of authoritarian system and totalitarian system in particular since the means available through those systems are limited and determinate that they are related to the nature of those systems.

Critics of the Iraq war often claim that President Bush lacked a just cause for initiating war. Even if one accepted as true the mendacious claims that Saddam Hussein had WMD in his possession, by no means did his regime constitute an imminent threat to the United States. A poor country, subjected to years of bombing and sanctions, was hardly in a position to imperil the only superpower.

There will never be peace in the middle-east. There are schools in the middle-east that teach the kids songs about martyrdom and being crusaders and such. There would have to be a huge miracle. These people have been fighting for centuries and will continue to do so. It is all they have known.

Well Intruders have to get off of their case first so that they can stop fighting... Don’t you think so? Wouldn’t you encourage your people to fight for their country if another country decided to simply invade it and use its resources?
