Recently, Iran has succeeded in launching a rocket carrying the first Iranian-made satellite into the space. Actually, no one fears the Iranian satellite in the space, but the international concern is from the rocket that carried the satellite. This successfully launched rocket proves that Iran has got a significant rocket technology, and now it enjoys important capabilities in this regard. This means that Iran has now ballistic capabilities can be employed militarily, as they can easily be turned to the military technology and weaponry.

The possession of military ballistic capabilities means for their holder that it has missiles can reach very far targets or lands in the world. This is the case of the Iranian capabilities in this regard that is proved by the latest successful Iranian rocket. However, although Iran can reach far regions in Asia, Africa, Europe and maybe America with its missiles, its ballistic technology, which is developed from a basic North Korean technology, is so far restricted to the long distance the missile can cover, but not to the ability of striking accurate targets or the ability of steering these ballistic missiles to their intended targets.

Anyway, the Iranian ballistic capabilities after this successful trial have attracted the world’s attention and consideration. In this regard, it was remarkable the statement of a Russian concerned official following the Iranian trial declaring that Iran can reach now any spot in the world with its ballistic technology, while Russia was always insisting in the latest years and month that there is no such threat by Iran, through the Russian response to the project of the former U.S. president Bush of anti-ballistic missiles shield to be installed by the U.S. in Europe to protect the U.S. and Europe from potential Iranian or north Korean ballistic threats.

Actually, this Russian opinion was an essential foundation for the persistent Russian objection to the U.S. shield project. Then, after this Iranian action, it has been definitely proved that Bush was right, and Russia was wrong according to this new official Russian statement in this regard.

Iran now has become a ballistic power. Therefore, given the restricted ballistic technology of Iran, as described above, and the insistence of Iran to get this technology in hard economic conditions in Iran, the regional and international parties should search for the reasons and objectives of this Iranian pursuit. Then, I suggest that the attention should be driven to the Iranian nuclear program and to sought the Iranian nuclear bomb.
